FIFA Football World Cup

Thursday 11 June - Sunday 19 July 2026!
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the largest in history, with 48 teams playing 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from 11 June to 19 July 2026. Millions of fans, players, officials, and visitors will gather — creating a unique global platform for prayer. As part of Go and Proclaim Ministries’ International Prayer Initiatives, we invite believers worldwide to intercede for salvation, protection, unity, and a mighty move of the Holy Spirit during this event. Use this guide personally, in your church, prayer group, or as a 40-day prayer focus leading up to and during the tournament. More detailed prayer requests will follow closer to the time.

Key Prayer Themes (Use these daily or weekly)

 Outreaches
Pray that the World Cup becomes a harvest field. Ask God to open doors for evangelism through fan zones, churches in host cities, and personal encounters. Pray for many players, fans, and volunteers to encounter Jesus Christ.
Protection & Safety 
Pray for divine protection over all stadiums, fan zones, transport systems, and cities. Cover players, spectators, and security teams against accidents, violence, terrorism, or health issues. Pray against human trafficking and exploitation that often spikes during major events.

Group Stage (11 June – 27 June)
 Focus daily or weekly on specific matches, asking God to use each game for His glory.

- Pray for each of the 12 group stages and the 48 nations represented.
- Pray for fans traveling from around the world, especially those coming from unreached or restricted nations, that they will be blessed and that they may hear the Gospel.
