Encouragement:
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. [1 Corinthians 15: 58]
Please pray fervently for heavy showers of rain in the NMB Catchment Areas!
The NMB Church:
As Christians throughout NMB have just celebrated the most pivotal event in the history of the world: the Resurrection from the dead of the Lord Jesus Christ - which proved Him to be Who He claimed to be - pray for all these believers to be strengthened in their faith so that they will also believe strongly in the reality of their God and in His Promises to help them through all the difficult circumstances of life. Pray especially for those who came to salvation during this season to commit themselves totally to serving Jesus. Pray that many will continue to meditate on the messages they heard and the relevant scriptures that were shared and that more will come to Salvation and others to a deeper, more intimate walk with the Lord! [2 Peter 16 - 18; Matthew 27: 37-54; 1 Corinthians 15: 3-8; 12-14; 19-20]
Revival and Reformation in our NMB Churches:
Continue to intercede for our NMB young people to have a deep encounter with the living God. Pray for them to come to true repentance, leading to a change in attitude and in lifestyle; for the youth leaders and all in leadership to have great wisdom to guide our youth in this move of God. Also intercede for revival to break out in every congregation in all 60 wards in NMB - bringing salvation and transformation to each ward in the Bay. Pray for the Church to bring hope to NMB and to our nation. Praise God for the many prayer walks already taking place in different suburbs of NMB and ask the Lord to inspire even more individual Christians and congregational groups to prayer walk the areas in which they live. Intercede for a successful Jesus 2023 Crusade, as NMB Christians begin to reach out with the Gospel to the people in the Bay, other SA cities and other African countries. Pray for those leading this campaign to have wisdom, understanding, strategy, and great discernment as they plan this huge outreach. Pray for many believers and congregations from right around the Bay to participate in this Gospel event. Pray for and bless all other similar outreaches taking place in NMB in 2023. Intercede for all the Preaching and Prayer Teams that are ministering at SAPS stations weekly. Pray that our police will be encouraged and strengthened through this ministry. [Psalm 85: 6; Isaiah 57: 15; Psalm 80: 19; Habakkuk 3:2]
Pray for our Local Government: [1Timothy 2:1-5]
For good health, energy, resilience and protection for our Executive Mayor, the Councillors, and Department Heads in our Municipality and their families; for unity, harmony, cooperative attitudes, a heart for the Metro to do well, integrity, strategic-thinking, skills to be recognised and used, endurance, wisdom and understanding in our local government. Pray for the NMB Infrastructure and Engineering team as they seek to restore infrastructure in the Bay. Pray for the ongoing success of the Ward Breakfasts - taking place ward by ward throughout the Bay - where Ward Councillors, Church Leaders, Educators, Medical and Business People meet together to inspire one another to help to re-build and restore their wards. [Nehemiah 2:17].
Pray for the SAPS; Metro Police; Security Firms and Correctional Services:
For their members to be protected, alert, observant, and impervious to bribes or threats. Ask the Lord to intervene in the crime situation in the Bay: Pray especially for the crime and violence in the Northern Areas to cease! Strengthen our police in this situation and bless the Northern Areas with a lasting peace and calm. Let all illegal gang activity be uncovered, and brought to a halt. Cause all those breaking the law to be caught and arrested! [Psalm 29: 11]
